Steve and Cindy Lapp own the Yucca Valley Equestrian Center.

Cindy Lapp has over 40 years experience in the business of breeding, training, showing and caring for horses. She showed her Quarter Horse, Mr. Gees Rick A Tic, through Prix St. George - especially rewarding for Cindy since Rick was a third generation from her own breeding stock. Since then she has earned her Dressage Silver Medal, has brought young horses up through the ranks in Cutting and Ranch Horse Versatility, and has recently taken up eventing in her "spare time".

With patience, a good eye, and correct timing, Cindy has trained horses of all breeds and ages into willing partners. She placed Top Ten in the 100 day training challenge "Extreme Mustang Makeover" both times she competed.

Cindy has trained with Hilda Gurney and attends clinics given by other Olympic riders and trainers, such as Kathleen Raines and George Morris.  She is a member of the Association of Professional Trainers and Instructors, which is recognized by both USDF and CDS, and is an "L" Dressage Judging Program graduate.

As an instructor, Cindy strives to turn out horse people, not just "riders". Lessons at YVEC emphasize correct equitation as well as effective communication between horse and rider. Students learn to become confident riders with an understanding of how the entire body affects the horse, and go from there to meet their individual riding goals.

Assistant Debbi Sullivan has an A.A.S. Degree in Equine Studies - Stable and Farm Management and has over 30 years experience in the horse industry.
Debbi assists Cindy with horse care at the ranch, and teaches both English and Western lessons to beginning through intermediate riders.

Debbi and her horse GS Sundown Slim have competed at the Pomona Horse Expo twice in the "Ultimate Super Horse Competition", ending as Reserve Champion. Debbi enjoys helping riders learn to negotiate obstacles as part of her lessons, always emphasizing harmony, confidence, and fun.
